Patuxai, meaning “Victory Gate”, is a war monument in the heart of Vientiane dedicated to those who fought for independence from France. It resembles the Arc de Triomphe in Paris but is decorated with traditional Lao motifs. Visitors can climb to the top for panoramic views of Vientiane.
